While the girls napped on Saturday, I photographed eggs.
We bought them at the Loco Cowpoke Salsa Shop in downtown McKinney that morning. I loved the carton, and the eggs are different sizes and colors (even some light blue ones). I just had to buy them!
I used my 50mm and my 105mm macro for these. It was fun to try different compositions and angles on subjects that stayed still. And all the way at the bottom is a self-portrait; I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and thought how silly I looked there with my foam board and bowl of eggs!

Oh Sarah- I wish we had been able to photograph these at the meet up! They are sooooo cool! I just love that they are all a little bit different. My favorite is the last one of the eggs in the carton! Sounds like the perfect nap time to me!!!
Well what else are you going to do whilst the kids nap! Over here in the UK it's rare to see a white egg with brown the norm so I am jealous as those white eggs photograph so well.
I love the egg shots so close to Easter! I must plan some as well. Great post processing!
So cool, I've tried photgraphing eggs and mine didn't work at all, congrats!!!
I love the little piece of straw hiding among the eggs, really adds to the organic feel. Your food photography is stellar, seriously. Gorgeous work! You have an eye, a flair, for interesting perspectives and compositions. I love these! The pullback shot is awesome too... white foam board, so simple and effective!
These are so gorgeous Sarah! I love them. Isn't it nice to photograph something other than your kiddos?! It is for me at least. Enjoyed looking at these tonight.
I agree with Holly, you have some absolutely amazing shots here! Looked through a couple of your posts, including the carrots, and thought they were fantastic! Really great work!!
